Doktora tezim “Bir Görsel Arkeoloji Denemesi Olarak Çubukçu Han Hatırası” kapsamında geliştirdiğim bir yerleştirmedir ve “görsel arkeoloji” yaklaşımının ilk görünür halkalarından biridir. Çubukçu Han’a ait buluntu fotoğrafları bir arkeoloji nesnesi olarak ele alıyorum. Onlara müdahale etmeden, etik sınırlar içinde; “görsel arkeoloji” adını verdiğim yöntemle, kadrajda kalmış bedenleri ve kıyafetleri olduğu hâline mümkün olduğunca sadık kalarak mekâna geri çağırıyorum.

Materials: Organza fabric, fourteen dress models, hanging system, light, references to found photographs.
This installation was developed within the scope of my doctoral research, An Experiment in Visual Archaeology: The Memory of Çubukçu Han, and is one of the first visible manifestations of the “visual archaeology” approach I propose. I consider the found photographs of Çubukçu Han as archaeological objects. Without intervening in them, and within ethical boundaries, I apply the method I call “visual archaeology” to recall the bodies and garments remaining in the frame back into space, staying as faithful as possible to their original state.
